A plant-covered wall, horsehair textured wallpaper and champagne shades lit with bronze glass. Interior designer Robert Kolenik showcases his club design expertise at Touch. This grand café, restaurant and club opened its doors in 2008 in the city of Nijmegen.

The concept at Touch is all about entertainment and eating, like in its Sunday Jazz Finger Food Lounge. By day, Touch is a grand café with a restaurant design that allows guests to communicate with the chef as he cooks. By night, Touch’s hospitality design is transformed into a club design with space for DJs. This provides the ideal setting for the ultimate evening or night out.

Multifunctional club design

Kolenik chose materials such as warm wood from the exclusive Palisander tree. The shiny elements in the bar give it the ultimate Vegas touch, which chimes perfectly with the overall nightlife atmosphere. Sensual but robust shapes were also part of the interior design. This features eye-catching details, a combination of black and dark brown shades, dramatic lighting and strokeable materials. Kolenik explains: ‘The choice of dark, warm colours makes the interior feel like an exclusive gentlemen’s club. The effect is twofold. During the day, Touch can welcome guests peacefully. By night, however, a few simple touches of the button transform the interior into a 1950s Vegas-style club.’
