Preservation of Nature is developing the recreational hub Gooi and Vecht. Spindle herein is the visitor center which is located in a historic farmhouse in the grounds of Outside Book Steijn. To better meet the needs of the visitor recreërende, realized an additional building on the southeast side of the visitor. Formerly a cattle barn, so the new building restored the original farmyard at this place.The design Drost + van Veen architects made this multifunctional building connects to the routing and sightlines from the outside area. It will have the look of a modern barn, with a facade that will consist of several wooden elements that give the building a natural and contemporary appearance and provide a connection to the environment. The building provides space for catering with terrace, storage and work space for the Preservation of Nature and other users and bicycle rental.Specifically, the observatory realized on the floor. This area stands out as different volume by the sloping roof of the building and acts as a beacon for visitors to the Gooi and Vecht.
