NEW OVERBOS, NURSING HOME, HEEMSTEDE

In a beautiful park at the foot of the dunes in Heemstede realized a residential care center for the elderly. In a contest was chosen the design of Drost + van Veen architects. The clad hills in the area and the experience of the elderly are the themes for the design. In order to make the building less massive, it is fragmented into three separate masses. On the ground floor are the health services, on the first floor, the small group living and above are independent apartments. In order to give the building a slight expression, the building has been given a white shade. Along with the wedge-shaped floor plans and the layered walls this color gives the building a friendly character. With its rounded corners and curves of the building has a comfortable feel, with an allure that Heemstede worthy.
