Drost + van Veen architects realized a total of twelve bridges for business park The president of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer: nine bridges to slow traffic and three car bridges. When the design was an encounter of contrasts on many levels centrally. Inspiration is drawn from the surrounding countryside and out graffittikunst.
The bridges are designed as a single family picture. They are clear icons that enhance the character of the area. In all bridges form the support structure, the bridge deck and the back one continuous element. The unique shape gives the bridge a look referring to the rugged landscape. Further materialization of the bridges is thus a clear contrast. Applied trunk, complete with bark, refers to the surrounding park-like setting. The artist Milou van Ham, the bridges provide inspired texts on boominkervingen. These texts enrich the bridges as a kind of prefab graffitti.Winner Architecture Haarlemmermeer 2009
