THE HAGUE’S MUSEUM QUARTER
The Hague may be a political centre, but the museum district at the heart of the city is packed with cultural institutions. Visitors can even take a selfie with Mozart.
Interactive walking route
Studio Louter and Tjep. developped an interactive walking tour of the cultural heart of the royal city. Walking through the Museum Quarter, visitors will discover the uniqueness of this neighbourhood where art has always played an important role.
QR codes
Scattered along the streets on the route are brass plaques with QR codes on them. Scanning them will enable visitors to meet famous people from the past and take pictures with them thanks to Augmented Reality. Help King William I carry Paulus Potter’s painting ‘The Bull’ into the Mauritshuis, or sit at Mozart’s piano on Tournooiveld.
Participating institutions include the Mauritshuis, Prince William V Gallery, The Hague Historical Museum, Museum Bredius, Kloosterkerk, Prison Gate Museum, Pulchri Studio, Diligentia Theatre, Kunstforum, The National Theatre, Escher in the Palace, and Tournooiveld
