VATHORST FIELD 1.6, HOUSES, AMERSFOORT

Villas in greenField 1.6 is the new Vathorst district on the outskirts of Amersfoort. On this lot, located on an old opening ribbon, five spacious villas and an apartment building of three layers are realized.The villas and apartment building are part of a ‘family image’. The houses are accessed through a common yard, on which are located the garage and visitor parking. In the middle of the lot is maintained the existing farm. The houses are loosely grouped around the farm.The six buildings are south facing and have views of the fruit trees in the communal garden. In the design of the houses is the roof, both in the interior and exterior, the iconic element. The farm with the big pannenkap for this was the source of inspiration. The roofs of the houses fold over the masonry and as part of the vertical façade.Each house opens up to the garden green. Here the façade consists of a glass front on two floors. The villas are so connected that view and privacy are guaranteed. it is possible to make a bedroom of the storage room by the inventive arrangement of the housing. This makes the homes ‘life-proof’ and especially suitable for seniors.
